Bowling at the First Baptist Church
When Paul Lorraine saw the success of the Church Softball League,
he wondered aloud how come we couldn't have a Christian bowling
league in the city as well. He put the bug in the Pastor's ear and
before long the Baptist bowlers were born.
In 1992 we formed the league with six teams. The Should-A-Beens,
featuring Oliver and Barbara Bray, Harry Calkins and Nancy
(Sederquest) Schuster, won the inaugural championship.
Over the years we have involved many members and friends of the
church and had as many as ten teams at any given time. In the
summer of 2008 we bowled our last formal season but that doesn't
mean we can't resurrect the league if there is a renewed interest. Talk
to the Pastor if you like to bowl and we can always see where the Spirit
leads.
Sharon Fishkin was added to our Hall of Fame in2008!
