Golf and First Baptist Church
Fred Green and Cliff Vanase are two of our members who really enjoy
the game of golf. A couple of years ago they got together with the idea
that we could put together a tournament where their love of the sport
could also enhance one of our ministries.
In 2003 the guys organized our first golf tournament and raised
enough money to buy some equipment for our sound system at
church. In its second year they raised money to help send our Senior
high Youth to Colorado.
The tournament was a lot of fun and served a good cause. Several of
our members and friends participated as well. Only time will tell if it will
continue, but for now it is one more way that we have used sports
ministries to reach out into the community.
