Youth Group Schedule May 2008
Sunday, May 3rd - The girls in our youth group
are planning on attending the Annual
Mother-Daughter Banquet at 6:00 p.m. here at
church. They look forward to meeting Dana
Daunis, Miss Connecticut 2007, as well as
enjoying a delicious turkey dinner. The cost is
Adults $7.50, Children 6-12 $5.00, and age 5
and under Free.
Friday, May 23rd - The youth group will be meet
at church and have Pizza and play some games.
Then they will go to the Norwich Ten Pin for
Rock and Bowl which is at 10:00 p.m. until 1:00
a.m. The girls will then return to the church for a
Pajama Party, until the next morning.

Celebration and
All Church Picnic
Our Children's Day Celebration will be
on Sunday, May 18,2008.
Come and join us as our Sunday
School children share what they have
learned over the past season. We will
also be presenting awards and bibles
to many of the children.
We will all meet after service at Fort
Shantock for an afternoon of food,
games and fellowship.

Cost: Adults $7.50 Children Age 6-12: $5.00 Age 5 and under: Free Special Guest: Dana Daunis Miss Connecticut 2007 Dana won the talent competition in a prelinary round of the Miss America Pageant earlier thisyear. She will be singing for us and then be available for autographs and pictures. |
The Big 50 Celebration
Join us as we have some fun with those hitting the half
century mark On June 1 we will honor those turning 50 years
old this year. The list includes our Pastor and many regulars
at church. The circle also includes a few in our wider church
family.The half centurians include:
Pete Adams, Patty Bell, Leon Dalbec, Mark Damien, Ray
Deptulski, Sue Ferguson, George Fratoni, Fred Green,
Elizabeth Isenburg, Cal Lord, Stephanie Mattos, George
Rezendes and Mark Rogers and Marc Vaillancourt. (If you
also fit in this category let the Pastor know so we can add you
to the list!)
During worship we will also recognize our members with fifty
or more years of membership. They include:
Edith Robinson (1928), Doris Regets (1937), Jean Roscoe
(1939), Lois Lopez (1944), Bruce Royce (1952), June
Pendelton (1953), Doris Adams (1954), Marge Booth (1954),
Carolyn Benker (1955), Charles Hamblen (1955),
Bonnie Koch (1955), George Strouse (1956), Elaine Berrie
(1957), and Jean Smith (1958).
Finally, we are also going to recognize our couples who
have been married 50 years or more. That includes Bob &
Marge Booth, Dick and Elizabeth Strong, Al and Sue Damien,
and Dot and Harry Calkins.
It should be a great day and a lot of fun. We will have a
reception after church to honor all of our half centurians.
By the way, there are several people also celebrating other
notable birthdays in 2008. We are going to wrap them into
the celebration as well. Ao if you were born in 1918, 1928,
1938, 1948, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998 we want to invite you to
party with us. Just let us know in the church office and claim
your year!
